Fun Writing with Roll A Story and a Freebie

Several of my students hate writing. There's just something about having to sit there and putting their thoughts on paper that they don't enjoy. I know I'm not the only one with students like this and I'm sure many of you have students just like mine! 

One way I've found that I can get those kids to enjoy writing is if I incorporate dice into writing. They absolutely love rolling a dice to learn who their character, plot, and setting in their story will be. If this helps my kiddos that struggle with writing then I am all about giving them these activities to promote a love of writing.

Lion Directed Drawing Freebie

I know distance learning has been hard! Not just for me but for every teacher I know. The one thing my students look forward to every week is our directed drawings on Friday.

This week it is all about lions so I wanted to share this fun directed drawing freebie with you.

My Classroom

I know it's late in the year, but I was scrolling through my phone looking at my pictures and found all of these pictures of my classroom I'd taken at the beginning of the year. Maybe it'll help someone for next year if we're able to get back to our classrooms after this crazy coronavirus.

Skip Counting Posters

Here is a view from one corner towards my teacher area. A third grade teacher and I share the middle room. We hate the sliding wall! It's wasted space and I really wish they'd put a real wall in with a door. I have different colored pom poms hanging above each table group. Everything in my room is color coded so blue table knows they always get the blue caddy, blue math bin, etc. The skip counting posters about the ugly sliding wall have been a lifesaver for some of my students and they're super cute too!
